Abstract

The current systematic review provides an overview of the new studies on the concomitant impact of the implementation of digital leadership (DL) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the employee Innovative Work Behavior (IWB). The incorporation of technology in the modern context of the organizational environment, as well as the modern practices of leadership, has become the most significant factor in enhancing the creativity of the workforce in these organizations in the context of the ongoing process of digital innovations they pass through. Within the theoretical terms of Cognitive Evaluation Theory (CET) and the Cognitive-Affective Processing System (CAPS), this paper discusses how digital leaders can provide psychological safety, build digital literacy and overcome fears of technological displacement. Meanwhile, the review analyses the redistribution of the cognitive capacity in terms of repetitive workflow to the problem-solving based on design, which is applied to AI. By systematizing the current empirical evidence into a conceptual framework, this review will provide key future research direction opportunities to researchers and practitioners.
